Pécs elsőszámú zenei kollektívája, a BETWIXT immár negyedik éve áll elő egy válogatáslemezzel aktuális születésnapja alkalmából: igazi win-win szituáció ez, hiszen míg a társaság ezen a módon ad lenyomatot ad az aktuális zenei univerzumáról, az elektronikus zenei mindenevők rendre élvezkedhetnek a csapat védjegyének számító eklektikában kalandozva. Az eddigi szín alapú tematikát folytatva, a kék, a sárga és a vörös kiadvány után ezúttal a fekete van soron, azaz megérkezett a BLACK!

A BETWIXT katalógusának összességében nyolcadik kiadványát pörgetve a hallgató a BETWIXT-hez köthető producerekkel és meghívott vendégek alkotásaival egyaránt találkozhat. A már megszokott nevekhez – BandiT, BRSK, illben, Levkō, marion - ezúttal a hazai global bass vonulat legfőbb képviselője, a Babylon Records atyja, Stas, a Telekom Electronic Beats tavalyi karantén-összeállításán feltűnő, a Hangfoglaló Program keretén belül pallérozódó Ben Leavez, a Pluto Sound kiadó alapítója, a számos különböző alteregó alatt aktív Christopher Weaver és a Skóciából bejelentkező, a hazai színtéren leginkább az imPro School kötelékében fellelhető Ferko csatlakozik.

Így már nem is hat meglepetésként, hogy a lemezen a műfajok egész garmadája sorakozik: a legkülönfélébb hangulatokat és tempókat érintő house és techno, a kifejezés klasszikusabb, brit beütésű és futurisztikusabb árnyalatában egyaránt feltűnő basszuszene, illetve egy kis kitérés a lo-fi és a trip-hop világba is.

A BETWIXT a lemez háttérmunkálatait sem bízta a véletlenre: a masteringért Stámusz Ferenc, a borítóért a Kiscsipesz Studio és Lugosi Tamás ‘Scham’ felelt.

The number one music group of Pécs - the BETWIXT has been coming up with a compilation album for the fourth year in a row. This is a genuine win-win situation because the group shows its impression of its current music universe and the electronic music omnivores can enjoy the team's trademark at the same time while getting lost in eclecticism. Continuing the previous color-based theme after the blue, yellow and red releases, the time has come for the black colour. Meaning that BLACK has arrived!

By spinning the eighth release of the BETWIXT catalog the listener can meet both BETWIXT-related producers and the works of invited guests. Apart from the usual names - BandiT, BRSK, illben, Levko, marion - this time the chief representative of the Hungarian global bass line and the father of Babylon Records - Stas; Ben Leavez who appeared in last year's quarantine compilation of the Telekom Electronic Beats; the founder of Pluto Sound
publishing house, Christopher Weaver who is active under many different alteregos, and Ferko who logs in from Scotland and mostly associated with imPro School in Hungary.

It no longer comes as a surprise that the album lines up a whole list of genres: varying house and techno, bass music in a more classical, British-influenced and futuristic tone of the term, and a little detour into the world of lo-fi and trip-hop. BETWIXT didn’t leave the background work of the record to chance either: Ferenc Stámusz was responsible for the mastering and the cover was created by Kiscsipesz Studio and Tamás Lugosi ‘Scham’.
