A BETWIXT második megjelenését a Collect All And Save prezentálja. A duó – Borbás Olivér és Irsik Bence – számára nem ismeretlen a kollaboráció, hiszen amellett, hogy a Kaktus zenekar tagjai, még unokatestvérek is. Azért indították a projektet, hogy a zenekarral ellentétben itt csak az elektronikus zenére fókuszáljanak… de azért persze a gitárt és a torzítót sem rakják túl messzire.

„Ez a legvidámabb dolog, amit valaha csináltunk” – mondják a sötéten hömpölygő technótömegre, ami az első EP-jük anyaga lett, ami akár aggodalomra is okot adhatna. A három szám meglehetősen nyers és experimentális. A post-rockra hajazó elemek ugyanúgy megjelennek bennük, mint a magyar népi motívumok, úgyhogy garantáltan nem mindennapi élményt nyújt a hanganyag. Az alapot persze kőkemény négynegyedek adják, úgyhogy a technóhoz szokott füleknek sem kell tartaniuk tőle.

A Collect All And Save fellépéseknek külön egyedi ízt ad, hogy live performansznak tervezik őket. Míg Olivér dj-ként a számokat rakja, Bence gitározik. Érdemes tehát őket élőben is elkapni!

The second release of BETWIXT comes from Collect All And Save. Olivér Borbás and Bence Irsik are used to collaborating, since they are both in the band Kaktus, and they are also cousins. They started this project to focus on electronic music… but of course they didn’t put the guitar too far either.

“This is the happiest thing we have ever made” - they said about the EP, which is a bit alarming, since the release consists out of three dark and heavy techno tracks. It is raw and experimental. You can find traces of post-rock and even Hungarian folk music, so it is unusual, to say the least. But they are all built around thumping basslines, so don’t worry - if you like techno, you’ll love this!

What makes their live performances unique is that while Olivér mixes the tracks as a DJ, Bence plays on his guitar. If you have the chance to see them, don’t miss out!
